Weather

The Mansfield's National Weather Service states a record of minus 22F last Jan. 20, 1995. We get lots of snow to play and build in and to shovel. During the winter many children are anxiously listening to the weather forecast on the radio in the morning to see if school is canceled. We get about two weeks of "Snow-days" for the public schools, then the children must start making up the days missed.

When it's hot, it's hot. Ashland has been recorded as getting as high as 101F the summer of 1988 during a great drought. In my opinion, the humidity is really bad around here. I take cover in air-conditioning when the humidity rises. For Ashland, humidity reaches 90% during the summer. Also, during the spring we have our thunderstorms which sometimes causes the electricity to go out in the city. However, sitting out on the porch during a spring shower is very calming and soothing to the soul.
